Benefits Optimized for Actual Spending Patterns
Groundbreaking Financial Services Including Exclusive 10.2% Annual Savings for Military Personnel
Hana Bank announced on December 29 that it will launch the "Hana Nara Sarang Card," equipped with a wide range of benefits and services for the Republic of Korea Armed Forces, in early January 2026.
The "Hana Nara Sarang Card" is a lifestyle-focused debit card introduced by Hana Bank, which was selected as the new operator of the Nara Sarang Card, a leading financial product for military personnel. The card is designed to provide diverse benefits and services covering the entire journey of service members-from before enlistment, throughout their service period, and even after discharge as they transition into society.
In preparation for the launch, Hana Bank closely analyzed the living environment of military personnel, focusing on providing benefits optimized for their actual spending patterns. Key offerings include up to 30% cashback at military stores (PX), 20% cashback on online shopping, 20% cashback on delivery apps, and up to 30% instant discounts at CU convenience stores, all of which are frequently used by service members.
Additionally, the card provides extensive discounts and cashback benefits in various categories frequently used by soldiers during leave or vacations, such as fast food and dining brands, PC cafes, cafes, accommodation apps, language tests, bookstores, and amusement parks.
Hana Bank also aims to support military personnel in reducing transportation costs, which are essential during outings, overnight leaves, or vacations. The card offers up to 20% cashback and discounts on public transportation such as buses and subways, as well as on taxis and metropolitan transit, easing the burden of traveling to meet family and friends.
Furthermore, reflecting the increasing use of smartphones and digital content after work hours in daily military life, the card extends support to telecommunications and digital life. Even within the restricted environment of military service, soldiers can enjoy digital leisure activities with discounts or cashback on mobile phone bills, OTT services, mobile music streaming, and subscription-based services.
Hana Bank minimized card usage requirements so that service members can easily enjoy the diverse benefits and services of the "Hana Nara Sarang Card" both inside and outside the military without burden.
Notably, core benefits such as PX and online shopping discounts are offered regardless of the previous month’s spending, and other services are available with minimal usage requirements, allowing military personnel to intuitively and easily take advantage of many benefits without hassle.
In addition, Hana Bank will provide groundbreaking financial services to help soldiers build financial assets during their service, along with robust insurance coverage in case of unforeseen accidents, all linked to the Nara Sarang Card.
If military personnel receive their service salary through a Hana Bank transaction account, they will be offered an annual interest rate of 2.0% with no cap on the amount. For lump-sum savings during military service, the exclusive installment savings product "Hana Jangbyeong Naeil Junbi Savings" will offer an interest rate of up to 10.2% per annum.
Furthermore, conscripted soldiers will be provided with accident insurance coverage of up to 860 million KRW in the event of accidental death or disability, as well as mobile phone damage insurance, reinforcing Hana Bank’s role as a reliable financial partner throughout military life.
To actively engage with Gen Z service members, Hana Bank is launching a special advertising campaign. The campaign videos, featuring IVE’s An Yujin, the official model of Hana Financial Group, and actor Nam Tae-woo, who played Choi Il-gu in the reality military drama "Shinbyeong," will be released sequentially on Hana Bank’s official YouTube channel (Hana TV) and Instagram at 6 p.m. on December 29 and on January 5.
In particular, the campaign consists of two episodes-a military physical examination and a PX episode-designed to resonate with men in their early twenties. An Yujin’s bright and charming first-love performance and Nam Tae-woo’s realistic portrayal of military life will humorously and engagingly showcase the tangible benefits of the Hana Nara Sarang Card, promising an enthusiastic response.
An official from Hana Bank’s Nara Sarang Business Department stated, "As Hana Bank takes on the new role of Nara Sarang Card operator starting in 2026, we have prepared unprecedented benefits and services for the Republic of Korea Armed Forces. We will continue to discover and enhance a wide range of financial services that soldiers can truly experience in their daily lives, providing unwavering support."
Meanwhile, on December 23, Hana Bank reorganized its structure to ensure the smooth rollout of the new "Hana Nara Sarang Card" service launching in 2026. The Nara Sarang Card Business Task Force (TF), which had been preparing for the project, has been converted into the regular Nara Sarang Business Department under the Retail Group, enabling the bank to pursue ongoing and diverse initiatives for military personnel.
