In the new year, Everland will be filled with the aroma of bungeoppang, Korea's beloved fish-shaped pastry.
Everland, operated by the Resort Division of Samsung C&T Corporation, is launching the "Whatever Series" in celebration of the new year 2026, offering a variety of new themed content each month. For its first installment, Everland has chosen bungeoppang, a classic winter snack.
The Whatever Series is a new program independent from Everland's seasonal festivals such as the Tulip and Rose Festivals. Each month, a theme is selected based on customer interests, and special events are held intensively for just one month.
The first Whatever Series of the new year, starting January 1, is titled "Bungeoppang Rush." Following the story of a capybara dreaming a happy dream in which bungeoppang rains down in a warm place during the cold winter, Everland will offer a variety of unique content to enjoy bungeoppang in creative ways.

Since bungeoppang is the star of the show, visitors can enjoy a wide range of bungeoppang varieties throughout Everland, reminiscent of a "Bungmakase" (bungeoppang course meal).
There are over 10 types to choose from, including the traditional red bean bungeoppang, custard cream bungeoppang, pizza bungeoppang, and even the unique hot-and-cold combination of warm bungeoppang with cold ice cream bungeoppang.
In addition to bungeoppang, a Hot Food Street will offer other winter snacks such as peanut bread, grilled rice cakes, fish cake skewers, and roasted sweet potatoes, perfect for warming up and satisfying your hunger in the cold weather.
There are also plenty of interactive experiences for the whole family. At the Global Fair entrance and the entrance to Alpine Village, visitors can create winter memories at a 4-meter-tall photo spot featuring Lenny, Everland's mascot, holding a giant bungeoppang. In the Alpine area, the Bagel character will appear for photo sessions with guests twice a day.
At the Alps Shop and Russian Memorium gift shop in the Alpine area, guests can purchase popular SNS items such as the Bungeoppang Big Head Hat and other merchandise, or use the photo kiosk to take unique photos with a bungeoppang frame, further immersing themselves in the festival atmosphere.
In Alpine Village, a fish magnet fishing experience zone has been set up. Guests who catch a fish and bring it to the exchange booth will receive a special Lenny & Friends bungeoppang sticker as a souvenir, adding a participatory element to the event.
In Jutopia's Puppa Town, where the capybara-the main character of January's Bungeoppang Rush story-actually lives, a zookeeper will give a daily Animal Talk explaining the capybara's ecology and love for winter hot springs. Visitors can also look for golden carp swimming in a nearby tank and scan a QR code to participate in a roulette event for a chance to win Som (cotton) prizes.
The Everland app will also feature customer participation programs, such as a game to find the Golden Bungeoppang Store, exclusively for smart reservations, offering discounted admission for children (ages 36 months to 12 years), and a voting event to choose your favorite type of bungeoppang, with a chance to win 50,000 Som through a drawing.
There is also the "Gather Up! Bungeo Twins 20,000" event, where twins and their families can receive a special all-day pass for 20,000 won per person at the ticket booth.
A teaser video released on SNS on December 24, featuring AI-generated scenes of bungeoppang pouring over Everland attractions such as T Express and Snow Buster, and a capybara enjoying a hot spring filled with bungeoppang, has surpassed 600,000 cumulative views and created a buzz online.
Customers reacted to the teaser content with comments such as, "The cute bungeoppang cloud made me burst out laughing," "I'm already excited for this winter-themed concept," "The sight of the relaxed capybara dreaming of bungeoppang is so adorable it made me smile," and "Imagining the sweet and savory aroma filling Everland makes my mouth water-I want to go right now."
An Everland representative stated, "Even familiar themes like bungeoppang can become special content when combined with imagination. Alongside our seasonal festivals, we will continue to provide customers with new and enjoyable experiences every month through the Whatever Series."
Meanwhile, starting in the new year, Everland is also hosting the "Snow OZ Park" winter festival, set in a happy winter wonderland inspired by the world of The Wizard of Oz, alongside the Bungeoppang Rush event.
This winter festival features an expanded snow playground, including the Snow Buster sledding hill, Snow Play Ground, and Snow Yard, offering exciting winter memories. In addition, after sunset, there are various attractions such as the "Moonlight Photo Time" with colorful fairies, the outdoor dance event "Run Run Run! Snow Friends" with Lenny and friends, and special photo sessions.
The "Ever to Cabi" event, which allows guests to freely move between Everland and Caribbean Bay, is also underway, providing a unique winter experience where visitors can enjoy sledding, spa activities, and bungeoppang all in one day.
