On the 28th, Lee Guyoun, Senior Secretary for Public Relations and Communication at the Office of the President, said during a briefing at the Chunchugwan Press Center, "President Lee Jaemyung believes that as long as the investigation is conducted without any sanctuary, the form it takes does not matter." He added, "The investigation will proceed in accordance with the constitutional principles of not recognizing a state religion and prohibiting the collusion of politics and religion." However, regarding whether Shincheonji would be included as a subject of investigation, he responded, "It is inappropriate to single out a specific religion in concrete terms."

Regarding the results of Coupang's internal investigation released just before the announcement of a government-wide probe, he said, "Under the leadership of Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Science and ICT Bae Kyunghoon, each ministry will establish and implement countermeasures," and added, "The Office of the President has no separate position on this matter."

Meanwhile, concerning various allegations of misconduct against Kim Byungki, Floor Leader of the Democratic Party, he stated, "It is difficult and inappropriate for the Office of the President to comment," refraining from further remarks.
