Support for 1,840 Companies Recommended by 17 Cities and Provinces
Consulting, Exports, Manufacturing Innovation, and More
The Ministry of SMEs and Startups announced on the 28th that it will issue an integrated notice for the "2026 Regional Specialized Project Legend 50+ Support Program," which is being promoted in cooperation with 17 metropolitan local governments.
The Legend 50+ Project is a region-led business development program in which local governments recommend companies with high growth potential linked to their region's key industries, and the Ministry of SMEs and Startups provides intensive support by connecting various policy tools, such as the "Smart Factory Construction Support Program."
Next year, as in this year, various projects will be supported to strengthen the competitiveness of 1,840 companies recommended and selected from 17 cities and provinces nationwide. The main areas of support include consulting (10 billion won), exports (10 billion won), manufacturing innovation (10 billion won), commercialization (18 billion won), and human resources (1.5 billion won), totaling 49.5 billion won across five fields.
In the areas of policy funds, startup and growth, R&D, and guarantees, various institutional improvements will be applied, such as simplified selection procedures, exemption from evaluation or additional points, increased support limits, and preferential guarantee conditions.
Kwon Soonjae, Director of Regional Business Policy, stated, "We will spare no effort in supporting small and medium-sized enterprises with innovative capabilities within the region so that they can grow into anchor companies leading the regional economy and secure global competitiveness."
