Apartment Fire in Donam-dong, Tongyeong ... Man in His 70s Dies

At approximately 12:35 a.m. on December 27, a fire broke out on the fourth floor of a 12-story apartment building in Donam-dong, Tongyeong City, Gyeongnam.

As a result of the fire, a man in his 70s, identified as Mr. A, went into cardiac arrest while being transported to the hospital and ultimately passed away.

The fire was completely extinguished at around 12:54 a.m. after the apartment's automatic fire suppression system (sprinkler) was activated. However, the interior walls and household items were burned, resulting in property damage estimated at approximately 2.5 million won, according to the fire department.

The police and fire authorities are investigating the exact cause of the fire.
