Despite the cold wave over the weekend, temperatures in Gwangju and South Jeolla Province are expected to rise from midday, showing signs of recovery.

According to the Gwangju Regional Meteorological Administration, morning lows will range from -8 to -2 degrees Celsius, and daytime highs will be between 5 and 7 degrees Celsius, both lower than average. The following day, morning temperatures are forecast to be between -4 and 1 degrees Celsius, with daytime highs rising to 9 to 12 degrees Celsius, which is expected to be similar to or slightly above the seasonal average.

The Meteorological Administration has advised the public to take precautions against the rapid temperature changes. They emphasized the need to limit outdoor activities for the elderly and children, check for fire hazards when using heating equipment, insulate water meters and boilers, maintain heating in greenhouses and livestock barns, and adjust water levels in fish farms to prevent damage in the agriculture, livestock, and fisheries sectors.

An official from the Meteorological Administration stated, "Even if the temperature rises, strong winds may make it feel colder," and urged people to "regularly check the latest weather updates."
