"Starting With the Basics"... Ulsan Expands Agricultural Food Voucher Support for Vulnerable Groups

Support Expanded to Households with Young Adults Under 34,
Assistance Provided for 12 Months

The lighter the shopping basket, the more life's balance is disrupted.

Ulsan City is now accepting applications for the "2026 Agricultural Food Voucher Support Program" to address nutritional imbalances among low-income and vulnerable groups and to promote the consumption of local agricultural products.

The Agricultural Food Voucher Program provides vouchers (voucher cards) that allow vulnerable groups to purchase high-quality, fresh agricultural products at designated stores.

Next year's program will expand both its eligibility criteria and duration.

In addition to households with pregnant women, infants and toddlers, or children under 18 who are recipients of basic livelihood benefits (with an income at or below 32% of the median standard, as defined by the National Basic Living Security Act), households with young adults aged 34 or younger will also be eligible next year. The support period will also be extended from a maximum of 10 months per year to 12 months.

Applications can be submitted through various channels, including visiting the local administrative welfare center for one's registered address, using the automated response system (ARS), or applying online, until December 11 next year. However, households that meet the eligibility requirements as users of the 2025 program will be automatically enrolled without a separate application process.

The support period will run from January to December next year, and the amount provided will vary depending on household size, such as 40,000 won per month for single-person households and 100,000 won per month for four-person households.

The items covered include domestic fruits, vegetables, white milk, fresh eggs, meat, grains, tofu, forest products, and other fresh agricultural products, which can be purchased using the voucher card at stores such as Nonghyup Hanaro Mart and convenience stores.

An official from Ulsan City stated, "We expect this program will help support healthy eating habits among low-income and nutritionally vulnerable groups, while also expanding the consumption of local agricultural products," and urged, "Eligible households should be sure to adhere to the application deadline to avoid missing out on benefits."
