Patient-Centered Chemotherapy: Southeastern Nuclear Medicine Institute Expands and Relocates Chemotherapy Injection Room

Beds Increased from 15 to 29
Abundant Natural Light and Proximity to Walking Trails
Comprehensive Chemotherapy Services in an Integrated Space

The time patients find most painful, “injection time,” has been transformed into a “time of healing.”

The Southeastern Nuclear Medicine Institute (Director: Lee Changhoon) has expanded and relocated its existing chemotherapy injection room to provide a more comfortable and stable treatment environment for patients undergoing chemotherapy. The new facility will begin operations on the 29th.

With this relocation, the number of beds in the outpatient chemotherapy injection room has nearly doubled from 15 to 29. The newly established injection room is located in a spacious area adjacent to a pine forest and walking trails, situated on the second floor, which allows for abundant natural light and a strong sense of openness. This environment is expected to have a positive effect on the emotional stability and psychological recovery of patients receiving long-term treatment.

The expanded space now houses the outpatient chemotherapy injection room, hematology-oncology consultation rooms, the palliative care team, patient education room, and nutrition education room. By integrating treatment, counseling, and education, the institute expects to enhance both the efficiency and satisfaction of the overall chemotherapy process through patient-centered, comprehensive care services.

At the relocation ceremony, Director Lee Changhoon stated, “It is very meaningful to be able to welcome patients in a bright and comfortable environment. I hope this new space, located next to a sunny walking trail, will allow patients to receive treatment more comfortably, alleviating the inconvenience of waiting for chemotherapy due to a lack of treatment space.”

He added, “Starting with the relocation of the chemotherapy injection room, we plan to continue improving the outpatient environment in phases next year to further enhance patient convenience. I would like to thank the medical departments and administrative teams for actively cooperating in the space adjustment and remodeling with the interests of patients and the institute in mind.”

The Southeastern Nuclear Medicine Institute will continue to improve the medical environment from the patient’s perspective and is committed to providing warm and trustworthy public healthcare services.
