Recognized for Excellence in Budget Review and Administrative Audits
Suyeong Kim, a member of the Gwangju Seo-gu Council, announced on December 26 that she recently received the '2025 Local Autonomy Evaluation-Linked Legislative Policy Grand Prize' in the Basic Policy category from the Yeouido Policy Research Institute.
Kim Gwangtak, Director of the Institute, stated, "The recipients of this year's Legislative Policy Grand Prize were highly evaluated based on objective activity and performance indicators such as pledge fulfillment rate, attendance at plenary sessions, legislative and inquiry activities, and response to civil complaints. Above all, the most important selection criteria were the process of how frequently and deeply they engaged with citizens to solve problems, as well as the verification of their political and psychological competence."
Assemblywoman Kim enacted the 'Ordinance on Disclosure of Event Budgets in Seo-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City,' and received excellent evaluations for her work in budget review and settlement, as well as administrative audits, earning her the grand prize among council members of Gwangju's autonomous districts.
Assemblywoman Kim said, "I am delighted that my efforts for the residents have been recognized with this award," and added, "I will continue to listen more closely to the voices of the residents and strive to be a role model as a grassroots council member."
Meanwhile, Assemblywoman Kim is the only council member in Gwangju city and district councils to have won three major awards, having received the 'Excellence Award' from the Yeouido Policy Research Institute in both 2022 and 2023, and now the 'Grand Prize' in the '2025 Local Autonomy Evaluation Legislative and Policy Awards.'
