Choi Hyuna's "Weaving Light for You" Wins Gaya Eutteum Award at Gaya Webtoon Contest

Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Award and 3 Million Won Prize Awarded

The webtoon "Weaving Light for You" by artist Choi Hyuna won the highest honor, the Gaya Eutteum Award (Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Award), at the 8th Gaya Webtoon Contest, which was co-hosted by the National Gimhae Museum and the Glocal University Project Headquarters of Inje University. Along with this, the final announcement of the ten winning entries from the contest was also made.

"Weaving Light for You" is a romance webtoon centered on the Gaya crystal necklace. It was highly praised for its creative storyline and stable artwork, which beautifully and skillfully depicted the elegance of Gaya. In particular, the judges gave high marks for the delicate portrayal of the characters' emotional changes.


This year's contest, held under the theme "The Beauty of Gaya," ran from July 14 to October 19, 2025, and received a total of 40 entries. After evaluation by a panel of professional judges, ten works were selected as winners, including one Gaya Eutteum Award, as well as the Gaya Beogeum Award, Gaya Nuri Award, and Gayageum Bada Award.

Choi Hyuna, who received the Gaya Eutteum Award, will be presented with the Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Award and a prize of 3 million won. The National Gimhae Museum will sequentially release the winning works on its website and social media channels.
