Daedong Unveils Vision-Based AI Tractor... Set for Release in Q1 Next Year

Demonstration Event Held for Domestic Dealership Owners

Daedong announced on December 26 that it held a demonstration event for dealership owners, showcasing its Level 4 autonomous operation AI tractor, which is scheduled for release in the first quarter of next year. The tractor is based on vision artificial intelligence (AI) technology.

This demonstration was organized to evaluate the completeness of the new AI tractor in advance and to incorporate feedback from dealership owners across the country into the product. To this end, Daedong held a total of four demonstration sessions from December 19 to 23, targeting 130 dealerships in key agricultural regions nationwide, including Jangseong County in South Jeolla Province, Asan City in South Chungcheong Province, and Changnyeong County in South Gyeongsang Province.

During the event, the product was demonstrated in actual working environments. There was also a program that allowed dealership owners to board the demonstration tractor themselves and experience the autonomous operation features firsthand. A Q&A session was held to address questions regarding product specifications and sales policies.

In particular, the demonstration highlighted the use of vision AI-based field and implement recognition technology, enabling the tractor to perform precise unmanned operations in farmland with just a single touch on the 'Daedong Connect' app. This feature received an enthusiastic response from attendees.

The obstacle detection capabilities also attracted attention. The new AI tractor demonstrated its ability to recognize obstacles not only in front but also on the sides, automatically stopping and then resuming operation after assessing the situation, thereby proving its safety and reliability. In addition to autonomous driving, the tractor's mechanical and electronic performance has been significantly enhanced. Improvements in gear shifting have increased operational stability, and the addition of a new horizontal control feature has improved work precision.

Dealership owners who attended the demonstration responded positively overall to the unmanned autonomous operation technology. In particular, they noted that, unlike the previous Level 3 autonomous tractors based on satellite GPS, the new Level 4 unmanned autonomous operation, which incorporates vision AI, represents a new standard for tractors.

Choi Hyungwoo, Head of Domestic Business at Daedong, stated, "This demonstration was an opportunity to verify, together with dealership owners, the value that the Level 4 autonomous operation AI tractor can provide in real agricultural settings. Ahead of the official launch in the first quarter of next year, we will actively incorporate feedback from the field to further enhance the product's completeness and lead the AI-based autonomous agriculture market."
