Shinsegae Centum City is holding a "Special Event" to mark the 100th day since the opening of its Mall Sports & Young Fashion Hall.
This space, which has attracted visitors with its brand mix and experiential content, will use the commemorative event to review its achievements and accelerate momentum for the next 100 days.
The mall's basement level 1, which previously housed the duty-free shop, was transformed into an 800-pyeong (approximately 2,645 square meters) sports shoe specialty hall in December last year. In September, a further renewal expanded the space to 1,900 pyeong (approximately 6,281 square meters), creating a complex for sports, young fashion, and IP brands.
Targeting customers in their 20s and 30s, the mall introduced several brands utilizing character IPs for the first time in the region, including the "Hello Kitty Apple Cafe," the popular character goods shop "X Square," and "Miniso Friends." In addition, young fashion brands such as EE Place and Deus Ex Machina have opened, establishing the mall as a new shopping landmark.
Notably, the overlap purchase rate between the department store and the mall was about 55% during the same period last year, but after the renewal, it increased to 77%.
This is attributed to the large-scale renewal totaling approximately 2,700 pyeong (about 8,925 square meters), which improved the mall's vertical circulation that had previously been interrupted by the duty-free shop, and boosted circulation particularly among young fashion genres between the department store and the mall.
Furthermore, about 50% of the 65,000 new customers were in their 20s and 30s, demonstrating a clear effect in attracting younger shoppers. Additionally, 60% of the new customers were from outside Busan, indicating that the mall has also contributed to expanding its commercial reach.
Amidst this, the "Special Event" will run until the 31st, aiming to attract year-end shoppers.
First, the "Miniso X Zootopia" pop-up, featuring merchandise from the movie "Zootopia 2," which has surpassed 6 million viewers and set this year's box office record, will be open until the 31st.
Additionally, more than 10 shoe and young fashion brands, including Verutum, Born to Win, and Crocs, will participate, offering discounts of up to 50%.
A "Shoes Special Price Exhibition" will also be held. Featured products include Skechers "Go Walk Arch Fit Slip-Ins" (104,300 won) and Hunter "Intrepid Buckle Short Snow Boots" (144,500 won).
Various gift-with-purchase events will also take place. The Hello Kitty Apple Cafe and Grocery Stuff will offer an iced tea or an Americano, respectively, with purchases over 20,000 won. Young fashion brands have prepared a variety of gifts, such as tumblers, dust bags, and blankets (all in limited quantities).
Jung Hyun, Team Leader at Shinsegae Centum City Mall, said, "The opening of the Sports & Young Fashion Hall has brought in more customers in their 20s and 30s, increasing synergy with the department store's young fashion genres. We will continue to meet customer needs with differentiated brand strategies, including more regional firsts."
