'Gamtuistick' Gains Popularity, Inspiring a New Buzzword
Strong Sales for 'Deep Cheese Bulgogi Bake' and Other Items
Mega MGC Coffee announced on December 26 that its new winter season 2 menu, launched on the 11th of this month, sold approximately 1,700 items per hour based on total sales volume. This means roughly one item was sold every two seconds.
One of the signature items, the 'Gamtuistik Milkshake,' is a unique combination of a milkshake served with potato fry sticks, reinterpreting American food culture. The neologism 'Gamtuistik' has been spreading online, drawing significant attention. According to the search analysis platform BlackWiki, the number of posts related to 'Gamtuistik' has surpassed a cumulative total of 5,800. The classic milkshake, released at the same time, is also selling at a rate of about one cup every four seconds during business hours.
The bakery menu is also showing strong sales. The 'Deep Cheese Bulgogi Bake' has quickly become a flagship item, recording up to 181% higher sales performance compared to previous new bakery items. The 'Marshmallow Snow Cream Choco' is generating additional sales in the chocolate beverage category, which sees high demand in winter.
Even in the smoothie category, which is typically considered off-season during winter, the company has seen positive results. Mega MGC Coffee explained that it has maintained a steady level of sales during the winter season through the 'Mega Vita Pop Smoothie,' which emphasizes a health-conscious concept. The strategy of introducing wellness-focused products at relatively reasonable prices has proven effective.
Throughout this year, Mega MGC Coffee has continuously launched hit menu items such as the 'Mega Berry Acai Bowl,' 'Patbing Gelato Parfait,' 'Yogurt Gelato Choco Berry Mix,' and 'MGCne Ramyeon Ttang.' The winter season 2 menu is also experiencing a rapid increase in sales, with strong consumer response immediately after its release.
A Mega MGC Coffee representative stated, "We are responding to changes in dining trends by developing menus that reflect customer demand," adding, "We will continue to introduce products that offer both great taste and value for money."
