Yongin to Waive Fees for Unmanned Civil Service Kiosks Starting Next Year

122 Types of Documents Including Resident Registration Certificates Eligible for Fee Waiver

Yongin City in Gyeonggi Province announced on December 26 that, starting January 1 next year, it will waive the fees for administrative documents issued through unmanned civil service kiosks installed throughout the city, in order to reduce the burden on citizens using administrative services.

A total of 122 types of civil service documents will be available for free issuance, including resident registration certificates and abstracts, family relationship documents, and land and building-related documents. However, the city explained that real estate registration certificates, which fall under the jurisdiction of the courts, are excluded from the fee waiver.

Currently, the city operates 57 unmanned civil service kiosks installed at city hall, district offices, township and neighborhood administrative welfare centers, as well as at multi-use facilities such as hospitals and banks.

Previously, the city revised the "Yongin City Ordinance on the Collection of Fees for Certificates and Other Documents" to enable the fee waiver.

Lee Sangil, Mayor of Yongin, stated, "With the fee waiver, any citizen can now use the unmanned civil service kiosks without time or cost constraints," adding, "We will continue to create a convenient and efficient civil service environment that citizens can experience in their daily lives."
