He has achieved both honor and wealth. This is the story of Scottie Scheffler of the United States, the world’s number one ranked golfer.

This year, Scheffler competed in 20 tournaments on the PGA Tour and racked up an impressive six victories. Although he started the season late due to a palm injury, he still managed to win two major championships, the PGA Championship and The Open. Following seven victories last year, he collected six more trophies this year. In the past 40 years, Scheffler is only the second player after “golf emperor” Tiger Woods to win at least six PGA Tour events in two consecutive years.

He also dominated the detailed statistics. He ranked first in 17 categories tracked by the PGA Tour, including prize money ($27,659,550, approximately 40.8 billion won) and average strokes (68.131). He did not miss a single cut all season. He finished in the top 10 a season-high 17 times. In addition, he was voted Player of the Year by tour members. From 2022 to this year, he has been both the money leader and Player of the Year for four consecutive years.

He earned an enormous income, becoming a “money-making machine.” Golfweek, a U.S. golf media outlet, analyzed the average prize money per tournament for the top earners on the PGA Tour this year. Scheffler topped the list by a wide margin. He earned $1,382,977 (about 2.04 billion won) per tournament appearance.

Scheffler triumphed in the biggest matches. He took home the largest single prize of $4 million by winning the signature Memorial Tournament. He added $6.52 million by winning major tournaments, the PGA Championship ($3.42 million) and The Open ($3.1 million). He also earned $3.6 million by winning the BMW Championship in the FedExCup Playoffs.
