On December 24, an online media outlet reported that Chairman Cha Gawon had initiated legal proceedings to recover a loan of approximately 12 billion won from his former business partner MC Mong, and that a payment order had recently been issued. The outlet also claimed the two had been in a romantic relationship, releasing KakaoTalk messages as evidence.

In response, Wonhundred issued a statement the same day, refuting the report by saying, “After verifying the facts, both the article and the KakaoTalk messages in question are completely untrue.”

Regarding the disputed KakaoTalk messages, Wonhundred stated, “MC Mong sent the manipulated messages after being threatened by Mr. A, a relative of Chairman Cha Gawon,” and added, “At the time, Mr. A was trying to seize control of Big Planet Made, a label under Wonhundred, and coerced MC Mong to forcibly sell his shares through threats.” The company further explained, “During this process, the fabricated KakaoTalk messages from MC Mong were sent.”

The company also stated, “After seeing the report, MC Mong contacted the company to apologize,” and added, “We will take strong legal action against both Mr. A and the media outlet that first reported the story.” They continued, “We promise to respond with zero tolerance to any malicious slander or dissemination of false information targeting our artists and management.”

MC Mong also denied the allegations on his social media, stating, “I have never had an inappropriate relationship,” and asserted that the KakaoTalk messages were fabricated and that he intends to sue the media outlet. The post has since been deleted.

Meanwhile, in July, MC Mong left Wonhundred, stating, “I have entrusted all work to Chairman Cha Gawon and decided to study abroad for my health and personal growth.”
