Applications Open Until January 6 Next Year
Three-Year Term with Possibility of Reappointment
The Korean Film Archive Director Recommendation Committee announced on December 24 that it will publicly recruit a new director until January 6 of next year. The committee is seeking a candidate who possesses both expertise in film archive collection, preservation, exhibition, and exchange, as well as the management capabilities required for a public institution. The term of office is three years, with the possibility of annual reappointment based on performance evaluation.
The director will be selected through a document review and interview process conducted by the Director Recommendation Committee, and will be appointed by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism. Applications must be submitted in person or by registered mail to the Strategic Planning Team at the Sangam headquarters of the Korean Film Archive.
The Korean Film Archive, which began as a film storage facility in 1974, is the only film archive institution in Korea. It collects, preserves, and restores Korean films and audiovisual materials, and provides services such as screenings, exhibitions, and the publication of materials.
