'Fun!tastic Busan, Farewell to 2025... Busan City to Hold "Last Saturday" Concert'

Domohon "Together, It’s Truly Good: Fun!tastic Busan"
Media Members Disbandment Ceremony, Citizen Story Concert

Busan Metropolitan City will hold a year-end music concert for citizens to enjoy together.

On December 24, Busan Metropolitan City (Mayor Park Hyungjoon) announced that it will host the year-end concert "Together, It’s Truly Good: Fun!tastic Busan" at 4:30 p.m. on December 27 at the Dahal Lecture Hall in Domohon, an open multi-cultural space for citizens. Domohon is the former official residence of the Busan mayor.

This event is designed so that citizens can spend the end of the year with music. Local musicians based in Busan will take the stage and present performances that everyone can enjoy. The subtitle "Fun!tastic Busan" reflects the city’s tourism concept of preparing for an era of 5 million foreign tourists, surpassing 3 million, and becoming a "global tourism hub city where every day is fun."

The event will be divided into two parts. The first part, from 4:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., will be the disbandment ceremony for the "2025 Busan Media Members." This year, 120 media members have covered Busan’s policies, culture, and international events, producing more than 2,300 pieces of content. Of these, 830 were featured in Naver’s "Most Viewed News (TOP 10)," contributing to the city’s publicity.

The ceremony will include a video presentation of the activities, a retrospective speech, and awards for outstanding participants, with all members receiving certificates of participation. Five participants with exceptional achievements will be awarded the Mayor’s Commendation. On the second floor of Domohon, at Beonru, there will also be a photo and video exhibition showcasing the past year’s activities.

The second part, from 5:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., will be a citizen-invited concert. Stories submitted by citizens under the theme "Fun Busan" will be introduced, and three local music groups-Busan Jazzmen led by Kim Kyunghwan, indie band Burning Soda, and ensemble Chinchin Tango-will perform. The concert will be held in a talk concert format.

In addition to citizens invited through the advance story contest, up to 100 citizens who visit Domohon on the day of the event will be admitted free of charge on a first-come, first-served basis. The concert can also be viewed on a large screen installed in the multipurpose space on the second floor, Beonru. Busan Metropolitan City plans to produce this concert as a video content and release it as part of the "Together, It’s Truly Good" series.

Won Youngil, spokesperson for Busan Metropolitan City, said, "This is an opportunity for citizens to become the main characters in an open space, share stories of the year, and communicate through music," adding, "We hope that citizens who attend the event will find warm comfort and joy."
