On December 24, Dong-A Pharmaceutical announced that its pet healthcare brand Vetple has launched two types of oral care snacks exclusively for cats, called ‘Vetple V-Treat’.
Vetple V-Treat is designed with the unique characteristics of cats in mind, who often find tooth brushing difficult. The product allows cats to enjoy a tasty treat every day while also managing their oral health.
This new product is based on Vetple’s philosophy of ‘mindful pet health care’ and focuses on satisfying both palatability and functionality for cats. To cater to cats’ picky tastes, a special coating process was used to create a crispy texture and rich flavor. The treats are available in two flavors: tuna and salmon. In a palatability test conducted with cats owned by Dong-A Pharmaceutical employees, the product recorded a high preference rate of approximately 84%.
The product design also features unique innovations. It is crafted with a 3D structure that reflects the oral anatomy and eating habits of cats, stimulating their teeth and gums from multiple angles during chewing. This can help promote oral blood circulation and reduce gum swelling. Additionally, a porous structure increases friction with the tooth surface, contributing to tartar control.
The new product is available at the Vetple brand store and Dong-A Pharmaceutical’s official online mall, Dmall, with a special discount promotion to celebrate the launch.
A representative from Dong-A Pharmaceutical stated, “We have introduced a snack-type product to make it easier to start with oral health, which is the foundation of pet health management,” adding, “We will continue to expand our lineup of pet healthcare products that provide practical benefits to pets’ daily lives.”
Meanwhile, Vetple is a brand that aims for ‘mindful pet health care,’ encompassing not only the physical but also the emotional well-being of pets. Currently, the lineup includes a total of seven products: three supplements for dogs (joint, eye, stress), three for cats (hairball, urinary tract, stress), and a dual-care probiotic for digestive and oral health. All functional ingredients are carefully selected premium materials sourced from around the world, and the brand enhances trust by transparently disclosing all ingredients and their amounts.
