Fifth Bomb Threat Against Kakao... Threats Also Target KT, Naver, Samsung, and Hyundai Motor On the 15th, a report was received from the company about a bomb threat at the Kakao Pangyo Ajit building in Bundang-gu, Seongnam-si, Gyeonggi Province, prompting police and military to conduct a search. Another bomb threat has been made against Kakao, prompting a police investigation. This is the fifth bomb threat targeting Kakao since the first incident on the 15th of this month, and the police are taking measures such as increasing patrols.

On the 24th, a Kakao representative stated, "At around 9:11 p.m. the previous day, a threatening post was uploaded to the Kakao CS Center (customer service center) bulletin board," adding, "The post claimed that explosives had been planted at the Kakao Pangyo Ajit, and after confirming the post, we reported it to the police."

Recently, there have been a series of posts claiming that explosives have been planted at Kakao. Since the 15th of this month, a total of five threatening posts have been uploaded-on the 15th, 17th, 18th, 21st, and 23rd-creating a tense atmosphere within the company.

According to the police, the author of the threatening post uploaded to Kakao the previous day identified themselves as President Lee Jaemyung, just as in the post on the 21st, and used language mocking the police, referring to them as "incompetent officers."

In particular, recently, not only Kakao but also major companies such as Naver, KT, Samsung Electronics, and Hyundai Motor Company have been targeted by a series of bomb threats. Bomb threats have also continued to be made against the Presidential Office and the Ministry of National Defense. KT also received a bomb-related threat on the 17th and reported it to the police.

The police believe that, based on the content of the posts, there is a high possibility that they are false. Accordingly, instead of conducting building searches with special police units, they have decided to strengthen patrols.

A representative from a major company said, "With the end of the year approaching, posts claiming that explosives have been planted are continuously appearing in various places," adding, "Initially, some companies responded by switching entirely to remote work, but as the likelihood of the posts being false has increased, such measures are no longer being taken."
