Securing an Incentive of 11 Million Won
Jinan County in North Jeolla Province was awarded the top prize in the '2025 Second Half Local Tax Collection Performance Evaluation for Cities and Counties,' securing an incentive of 11 million won.
According to the county on December 24, this evaluation, organized by North Jeolla Special Self-Governing Province, comprehensively assessed 14 cities and counties in the province based on nine criteria, including local tax collection rate, growth in collection rate, seizure of license plates from vehicles in arrears, and public auction performance. Incentives were provided to cities and counties that made active efforts to increase local tax revenue.
This award follows the county’s top prize in the first half evaluation, marking continued excellence in tax collection and adding significance as a consecutive achievement.
The county has concentrated its administrative efforts on resolving tax arrears by holding township and town tax collection strategy meetings for systematic analysis and management of major delinquent taxpayers, seizing real estate and financial assets of large and habitual delinquents, confiscating license plates of vehicles in arrears, and conducting auction and public sale dispositions as part of proactive collection activities.
A county official stated, "This achievement was made possible thanks to county residents who faithfully paid their local taxes and the staff who worked diligently in the field. We will continue to strengthen our independent financial resources through ongoing management of delinquent taxes and do our utmost to realize fair and just tax administration."
