27.9 Million Views in Just 3 Days
Achieves Global Number One Spot
The Netflix film "The Great Flood" and the variety show "Black & White Chef: Culinary Class War 2" have each reached the number one spot globally in the non-English film and TV categories, respectively.
According to Netflix on December 24, "The Great Flood," which was released on December 19, recorded 27.9 million views within just three days of its release, topping the Global Top 10 Films (Non-English) chart. It ranked first in 54 countries, including Korea, Spain, and Brazil, and entered the Top 10 list in a total of 93 countries.
Notably, it surpassed the English-language number one, "Knives Out: Wake Up Dead Man" (20.9 million views), to achieve the overall number one spot in the film category.
"The Great Flood" is a science fiction disaster blockbuster depicting the struggle for survival of people trapped in a submerged apartment on the last day of Earth, which has been overtaken by a massive flood. The film stars Kim Dami and Park Hae Soo.
"Black & White Chef 2" is a cooking competition variety show where underdog chefs attempt to overturn the culinary hierarchy through taste, competing against star chefs from privileged backgrounds.
From December 15 to December 21, the show recorded 5.5 million views, claiming the number one spot in the Global Top 10 TV Shows (Non-English) category for the second consecutive year. It currently ranks first in Korea, Singapore, Taiwan, and other countries.
Additionally, it ranked first in the third week of the TV-OTT integrated drama and non-drama category in the Fundex survey by Good Data Corporation.
In addition, in the Global Top 10 Series (Non-English) category, the SBS drama "Kiss Was a Mistake!" starring Ahn Eun Jin and Jang Ki Yong ranked fourth, while the Netflix series "The Price of Confession" starring Jeon Do Yeon and Kim Go Eun ranked seventh.
