11 Years of Field-Based Support
Establishing a National Model for Rural Convergence Industries
The experiment in Chungnam, which has integrated the production, processing, and distribution of agriculture into a single industry to create new growth engines for rural areas, has now been recognized at the national level.
The Chungnam Agricultural Sixth Industry Center, which has accumulated tangible results in rural convergence industries through field-oriented support, became the first in the country to receive the Prime Minister’s Commendation.
The Chungnam Agricultural Sixth Industry Center, under the Chungnam Economic Promotion Agency, serves as a provincial-level intermediary organization that connects the primary, secondary, and tertiary sectors of agriculture to create added value and revitalize the rural economy.
Since being designated in 2015 as the specialized support agency for rural convergence industries in Chungnam Province, the center has established a field-oriented support system over the past 11 years, laying the foundation for rural convergence industries within the province.
The center has operated a comprehensive support system throughout the entire business cycle, focusing on nurturing certified rural convergence industry enterprises, developing sales channels, providing customized consulting, strengthening capabilities, and supporting overseas market entry.
Unlike one-off administrative support, the center has focused on providing practical growth support that can be felt directly in the management field.
In particular, the stable sales channels secured through the operation of antenna shops and product stores have been highly praised by local business operators.
Rather than stopping at simple exhibitions or promotions, the center has linked consumer feedback to product improvement and brand enhancement, establishing a structure that enables many enterprises to achieve continuous sales results.
The operation of the Chungnam Rural Convergence Industry College, the only one of its kind in the country, is also cited as a distinctive achievement of the center.
By establishing a customized consulting system for each stage of business, from the initial startup phase to growth and expansion, the center has simultaneously driven the sustainability and competitiveness of rural convergence industry enterprises.
The center has also achieved notable results in overseas market development. By continuously providing professional consulting, product localization, and connections to overseas buyers for export-promising enterprises, it has raised the overseas recognition of Chungnam’s rural convergence industry products and expanded their potential for entry into global markets.
Based on these achievements, the Chungnam Agricultural Sixth Industry Center has been recognized for contributing to the nationwide spread of the role and operational model of intermediary organizations for rural convergence industries. Its efforts to revitalize rural communities and promote balanced national development were acknowledged with the Prime Minister’s Commendation.
Han Kwonhee, President of the Chungnam Economic Promotion Agency, stated, “This award is not just the result of the center’s achievements, but also of the rural convergence industry enterprises that never stopped innovating, as well as the officials from the provincial and city/county governments who worked together on the ground. We will continue to support the sustainable growth of Chungnam’s agriculture and rural areas through practical, field-oriented support.”
Meanwhile, the Chungnam Agricultural Sixth Industry Center plans to continue supporting the qualitative growth of rural convergence industries by focusing on strengthening the competitiveness of certified enterprises, diversifying sales channels, and expanding exports.
