Gimcheon’s Jobs Are Not Just Plans, but Achievements

Recognized Once Again in Gyeongsangbuk-do Employment Evaluation

Gimcheon City has once again demonstrated the effectiveness of its regional employment policies by receiving an award for the second consecutive year in the Gyeongsangbuk-do job policy evaluation.

Gimcheon’s Jobs Are Not Just Plans, but Achievements Gyeongbuk Receives Job Creation Award for Two Consecutive Years

On December 23, Gimcheon City was awarded the Excellence Prize in the "2025 Job Creation Performance Evaluation" organized by Gyeongsangbuk-do, achieving the distinction of being selected as an outstanding city or county for job creation for two consecutive years, following last year’s recognition.

This evaluation comprehensively reviewed 22 cities and counties in the province across 12 items in four areas: achievement of job creation targets, budget execution and improvement of employment indicators, creation of quality jobs tailored to local conditions, and the local government’s efforts in policy implementation.

The significance of this award is heightened by the fact that the evaluation focused on the sustainability of policies and their tangible impact on the field, rather than just short-term results.

Gimcheon City received high marks for systematically managing its job creation fund and implementing customized employment policies that reflect the local industrial structure.

In particular, the city was recognized for reducing mismatches between job seekers and companies through field-oriented employment linkage programs and regular job fairs, producing tangible employment outcomes that citizens can truly feel.

Mayor Bae Nakho of Gimcheon City stated, "Winning this award for two consecutive years is the result of collaborative efforts by the administration, businesses, and the local community to create a job environment that all citizens can experience." He added, "We will continue to focus our administrative capacity on discovering jobs suited to local characteristics and building a sustainable employment ecosystem to realize Gimcheon as a city where people want to work and stay."
