Seungil Jeon, Gwangju Seo-gu Council Chairman, Receives 'Special Merit Plaque' from 32 Disability Organizations

Recognized for Advancing Disability Welfare and Rights

Seungil Jeon, Chairman of the Gwangju Seo-gu Council, announced on the 24th that he received a special merit plaque from 32 disability organizations in the Gwangju area on the 22nd in recognition of his contributions to the welfare and rights of people with disabilities.

This special merit plaque was jointly awarded by 32 disability-related organizations in Gwangju, including the Gwangju Association of Persons with Disabilities, as well as organizations representing people with physical, visual, hearing, and developmental disabilities. The award was established to express gratitude to individuals who have contributed to improving disability welfare and strengthening community solidarity.


Chairman Jeon has consistently worked to strengthen communication with disability organizations through policies focused on disability welfare and field-oriented legislative activities, striving for institutional improvements and the expansion of practical support. These efforts have earned him ongoing trust from people with disabilities and related organizations.


In particular, prior to receiving this special merit plaque, Chairman Jeon was also recognized with a plaque of appreciation from the Gwangju Association for the Physically Disabled, further acknowledging his contributions to the field of disability welfare by multiple organizations.


Chairman Seungil Jeon stated, "This special merit plaque, jointly presented by 32 disability organizations in Gwangju, is a very meaningful award for me personally," adding, "I will continue to seek answers in the field through legislative activities for the welfare of people with disabilities and the development of the local community."
