Gyeonggi Tourism Organization Receives Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Commendation for Efforts to Attract Foreign Tourists

Gyeonggi Tourism Organization received a commendation from the Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism on the 23rd in recognition of its efforts to boost the attraction of foreign tourists.

In December of last year, when the imposition of martial law triggered an emergency for attracting foreign tourists, Gyeonggi Tourism Organization immediately convened an emergency public-private joint meeting with around 40 participants, including the overseas travel industry, Gyeonggi Province, and local tourism businesses. The organization swiftly developed effective measures to overcome the crisis.

Since January of this year, Gyeonggi Tourism Organization has launched the "Real Korea Gyeonggi Welcome Campaign," which included: hosting offline "Gyeonggi Tourism and MICE Festa" events and safety promotion sales overseas; collaborating with leading global online travel agencies (Trip.com Group, Hanyouwang, KKday, Klook) to run an "Online Gyeonggi Tourism Discount Festa"; inviting key overseas travel industry professionals and influencers for a "Safe Gyeonggi Promotional Fam Tour"; and promoting the "Real Korea Gyeonggi" brand through advertisements at major airports and other locations.

A representative from Gyeonggi Tourism Organization stated, "In 2026, we will continue to actively implement customized marketing strategies tailored to the overseas market environment, enhance the value of the Gyeonggi tourism brand, and make ongoing efforts to boost the attraction of foreign visitors."
