The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism holds an annual ceremony to mark World Tourism Day, presenting awards to individuals who have made significant contributions to the promotion of the tourism industry, in order to honor and encourage their achievements.
Im Seokwon, Head of Management Support Division, was recognized for his contributions to overcoming crises in the duty-free and tourism industries and for establishing company-wide strategies for ongoing industry development, having led teams in various areas such as strategy, overseas business, and merchandise since joining Lotte Duty Free in 2005, a period spanning nearly 20 years. In particular, he contributed to enhancing the national image and improving the convenience of overseas travel and duty-free shopping for Korean citizens through new overseas business initiatives.
Additionally, as Head of the Business Strategy Team, he operated a mutual growth fund worth 50 billion won, creating a model for cooperation with small and medium-sized partner companies by providing low-interest financial support. This year, as Head of the World Tower Store, he participated in the Songpa Jamsil Tourism Special Zone Council, working to advance the local community.
Im Seokwon, Head of Management Support Division at Lotte Duty Free, stated, "I believe this award is a valuable result achieved together with our customers, partners, and the local community," and added, "We will continue to do our best to enhance the competitiveness of Korea's duty-free industry and contribute to the revitalization of the tourism market."
This year, Lotte Duty Free ranked first in all major domestic brand evaluations, including Korea Brand Power Index (K-BPI), National Customer Satisfaction Index (NCSI), and National Brand Competitiveness Index (NBCI). Last month, the company was also selected as an 'Excellent Work-Life Balance Company 2025' by the Ministry of Employment and Labor, further demonstrating its competitiveness across various fields.
