This Song Camp served as a core program of the 'Enter Incubating System-TU RECORDS' project, which is being promoted as part of the university's Autonomous Innovation Project (CI). It is a hands-on professional musician debut project in which students directly handle the entire process, from songwriting and composition to performance, recording, mixing, and album publishing (release).
The program was designed as an expanded project based on the experience and educational expertise Dongmyung University has accumulated through operating the Busan Content Korea Lab (B-CON) creative courses. This added further significance to the initiative. Approximately 40 participants, including current students from the Department of Entertainment Arts, prospective students, and high school students aspiring to pursue music-related careers, took part in the camp, demonstrating high levels of interest.
The camp featured practical workshops focused on digital technology for aspiring songwriters, including: ▲ DAW-based composition and producing practice ▲ sample programming and sound design (instructed by Choi Jaewon) ▲ K-pop vocal top-line creation workshop (instructed by Yang Yosep) ▲ special lecture on music video (M/V) production (instructed by Park Chowon). At the end of the camp, a showcase was held where participating students presented their original songs, providing a stage to share their creative results.
This Song Camp is recognized as the first intensive singer-songwriter creative camp held among universities and educational institutions in the Busan-Ulsan-Gyeongnam region, and is being evaluated as a new model that connects university education with the local creative ecosystem. Dongmyung University plans to further develop this program into a regionally expanded creative camp, allowing more local high school students and aspiring creators to participate in the future.
Lee Wooyoung, head of the Department of Entertainment Arts, emphasized, "This camp is not just an experiential program, but a preparatory stage for actual album production and debut," highlighting the importance of strengthening students' creative capabilities.
Professor Lee Gyuman, the project supervisor, also stated, "We will continue to provide ongoing support to ensure that the Dongmyung University student album release and singer-songwriter debut project, scheduled for January 2026, proceeds without any setbacks."
The Department of Entertainment Arts at Dongmyung University is the only music and entertainment convergence department in the Busan-Ulsan-Gyeongnam region. It offers a variety of specialized tracks, including ▲ music production ▲ digital performing arts ▲ YouTube creator ▲ AI broadcasting and entertainment, and actively supports students' professional debuts, start-ups, and entry into the industry through collaborations with content organizations.
