50% Rental Fee Discount Cuts Management Costs by 170 Million Won

Jangseong County in Jeonnam Province announced on December 23 that it ranked first in the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs' agricultural machinery rental business evaluation, achieving the record of being 'No. 1 nationwide for five consecutive years.'
This year, Jangseong County reduced the economic burden on farmers by continuously implementing a 50% discount on agricultural machinery rental fees. In monetary terms, this saved approximately 170 million won in management costs, providing significant support for farming operations.
The county not only led the promotion of mechanized farming by providing timely agricultural machinery rental services, but also systematically conducted training to ensure agricultural machinery safety.
Starting next year, the county plans to offer a 'one-stop agricultural machinery transport service.' This program allows farmers to receive rented agricultural machinery at their desired location without having to visit the rental center, targeting small-scale farms without transport vehicles. The county will also be responsible for collecting the machinery after use.
The types of machinery eligible for transport include 43 models that can be carried by a 1-ton truck or transported manually, such as riding mowers, cultivators, rotary tillers, soybean threshers, and seeders.
Additionally, it is positive that the county has secured a project budget of 400 million won, including national funding, by being selected for programs supporting the replacement of outdated agricultural machinery and the mechanization of major production areas.
Kim Hanjong, Governor of Jangseong County, stated, "It is very meaningful that the 'Jangseong Agricultural Machinery Rental Business,' renowned for its top-level service nationwide, has maintained its No. 1 ranking for five consecutive years. We will continue our efforts to improve convenience for farmers in their agricultural operations."
