CEO Daeguk Oh is an alumnus entrepreneur who earned both his master’s and doctorate degrees at Yeungnam University. He started Sangdae Industry in 1999, founded SD Polymer in 2005, and in 2010 established SDGN Tech Co., Ltd., a company specializing in high-performance reinforced plastics, a core material for automotive lightweighting.

SDGN Tech has grown into a world-class small and strong enterprise, expanding beyond Japan and Asia into global markets including the United States. In 2025, it was also selected as a “Hopeful Enterprise” by Gyeongsan City. Alongside his business management, CEO Oh has consistently engaged in social contribution activities. Since 2017, he has continued to donate to support socially vulnerable groups such as multicultural families and elderly people living alone, and has actively participated in various charitable activities, including supporting young artists and musicians and volunteering to deliver coal briquettes. In recognition of these contributions, he has received numerous commendations, including awards from the Minister of Trade, Industry and Energy, the Minister of SMEs and Startups, and the Prime Minister.

In particular, CEO Oh demonstrated his deep affection for his alma mater by donating 50 million won as a development fund in 2021 as well. After taking office as President of the Graduate School of Business Alumni Association in 2024, he has continued to play an active role in promoting unity among alumni and the development of his alma mater. In August, he organized the “Beautiful Alumni Night for Scholarship Fundraising,” leading the alumni association to donate a development fund, thereby taking the lead in spreading a culture of sharing among alumni. Furthermore, CEO Oh balanced work and study to earn his Ph.D. in Business Administration in August 2025.

At the donation ceremony, CEO Daeguk Oh said, “I have always managed my business with the responsibility that a company must grow together with society in mind. If the growth of my company can be of even a small help to the local community and those in need, that alone is a great reward.” He added, “I wanted to give back the learning and support I received from my alma mater to my juniors. I hope this development fund will help students venture out into a wider world.”

President Oechul Choi of Yeungnam University stated, “CEO Daeguk Oh has consistently fulfilled essential roles for both the university and the local community through his business management and activities as President of the Graduate School of Business Alumni Association. I am especially grateful for the way he has led the Graduate School of Business Alumni Association to mirror the activities of the university-wide alumni association. He truly embodies the values and direction that Yeungnam University pursues. Such dedication and action are the greatest strength and hope for Yeungnam University.” He continued, “I deeply appreciate his exemplary leadership in the alumni community and his warm-hearted generosity toward his alma mater. With this meaningful contribution, we will do our utmost to nurture talented individuals who will enhance the dignity of Korea and contribute to humanity.”
