Ace Bed Donates 100 Million Won to Briquette Bank... Over 110,000 Briquettes Provided

Park Bogum, Gwiedo, and Sean Join Volunteer Activities
"Expanding Social Contribution Together with the Local Community"

On December 23, Ace Bed announced that it had carried out a briquette donation and sharing volunteer activity for climate-vulnerable groups ahead of the severe cold wave.

On this day, Ace Bed delivered a donation of 100 million won to the Babsang Community Briquette Bank, a social welfare foundation, through a donation ceremony held in Sanggye-dong, Nowon-gu, Seoul. This donation is sufficient to provide more than 110,000 briquettes and will be used to support the livelihoods of elderly people and vulnerable groups who rely on briquette heating to get through the winter.

After the donation ceremony, about 50 members of the Ace Bed volunteer group participated in a briquette sharing activity throughout the Sanggye-dong area. Despite the cloudy weather, the volunteers delivered 2,000 briquettes directly to the doorsteps of local households, going through the alleys themselves.

The event was further highlighted by the participation of Park Bogum, the brand model for Ace Bed, and science communicator Gwiedo, both of whom joined to add meaning to the sharing. Singer Sean, upon hearing about the volunteer activity, also visited the site unplanned to help carry briquettes. Sean, as the chairman of the Seungil Hope Foundation, formed a connection with Ace Bed through its support for the construction of the Seungil Hope Care Hospital, the world's first specialized care hospital for Lou Gehrig's disease.

Ace Bed has been continuing its briquette donation and sharing volunteer activities every winter. In 2023, CEO Ahn Sungho proposed that "the more difficult the times, the more we should practice the value of mutual growth," which led to the first volunteer group being formed by committed employees and franchise owners. Thanks to high participation and positive feedback, this has become a regular social contribution activity, and the cumulative number of donated briquettes has now exceeded 340,000.

In addition, under the management philosophy of "returning corporate profits to society," the company has carried out a variety of social contribution activities. One representative example is the regular donation of rice to elderly people living alone and to child-headed households in the local community during every holiday season. Over the past 27 years, the cumulative amount of rice donated has surpassed 167,760 sacks, amounting to approximately 4 billion won in value.

Choi Beomseok, Head of Sales Division at Ace Bed, who participated in the volunteer activity, said, "All our employees came together to prepare this sharing activity, hoping to provide a small help to neighbors who desperately need briquettes during the cold winter," and added, "We will continue to expand social contribution activities together with the local community under our ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) management policy."
