Jeonnam Hampyeong County announced on December 23 that it has successfully completed the "Health Dream Happiness Bus" project, which was operated to promote the health of county residents and enhance medical accessibility.
The "Health Dream Happiness Bus" is a mobile health management service that directly visits rural areas and vulnerable groups with limited access to medical institutions. This year, Hampyeong County operated the health bus a total of 176 times, providing healthcare benefits to more than 5,000 residents.
The Happiness Bus offered a one-stop service including Western medicine, Korean medicine, and dental consultations, basic health check-ups, and chronic disease prevention education. In addition, healing programs such as foot massages, nail art, and classes in Nanta drumming, singing, and gymnastics were provided simultaneously, which has been credited with improving not only physical health but also emotional well-being.
Building on the results of this project, Hampyeong County plans to expand customized programs based on residents' needs and strengthen cooperation with related organizations to continuously provide more systematic and substantial health services.
Shim Hwasub, Director of the Hampyeong County Public Health Center, stated, "We focused on addressing healthcare blind spots in areas with low medical accessibility and among vulnerable groups," and added, "We will continue to pursue field-oriented public health administration so that everyone can enjoy health services without discrimination."
