On December 23, Jangheung County announced that it recently received the Encouragement Award in the 'Outstanding Population Policy City and County Evaluation' organized by Jeollanam-do Province. This evaluation comprehensively assessed the efforts and achievements of 22 cities and counties in Jeollanam-do in addressing population issues, their participation in population policy in 2025, the discovery of new policies, and presentation reviews.

The county presented two notable best practices: the establishment of rural study villages operated together with residents, and a housing support program for newly relocated households. These initiatives received high marks for improving living conditions in rural areas and contributing to an increase in new residents.

In addition, Jangheung County has continued to implement practical, everyday policies such as providing support for home repairs for returnees to rural areas, subsidies for private postpartum care, marriage incentives, and childbirth grants. The county explained that these policies have achieved tangible results in attracting and settling new residents.

An official from the Population and Youth Policy Division of the county stated, "We will share and analyze best practices to enhance the effectiveness of our policies," adding, "We will focus our administrative efforts on creating a region where it is easy to raise children, where young people choose to stay, and where people want to live for a lifetime through tailored population policies."
