"Seeking 'AI Practitioners'... Busan Chamber of Commerce and Industry Announces AI Idea Contest Results"

The Busan Chamber of Commerce and Industry announced the results of its "AI Idea Contest" on December 23, an initiative aimed at enhancing internal work efficiency and innovating member company services through the use of artificial intelligence.

The contest was held over three months and was open to all staff members of the secretariat, with a total of 16 teams participating. The participating teams proposed AI-driven projects that could be applied to actual work settings, including work automation, data-driven decision-making, advanced corporate support, and innovation in policy and administrative services.

After the first round of internal evaluation, eight teams were selected. In the second and final round, each team gave a presentation, which was evaluated by external AI experts. The final winning projects were determined based on their feasibility for field application and scalability.

The top prize went to the Southeastern Region Business Restructuring Field Support Center for its "Case-Based Business Restructuring Diagnostic Platform (RE-FORM AI)." This platform analyzes accumulated data on business restructuring approvals and successful cases using AI to provide company-specific suitability assessments and optimal implementation scenarios. It was highly praised for its ability to enhance both the accuracy and efficiency of policy support work.

The second prize was jointly awarded to the Corporate Regulation Improvement Team's "Busan Chamber of Commerce and Industry Corporate Difficulties AI Intelligence System" and the PR Team's "AI Work Assistant and Work Automation System." The Corporate Difficulties AI Intelligence System focuses on improving the expertise and processing efficiency of regulatory improvement work by using AI to analyze corporate difficulties and regulatory data, automatically generating draft proposals and identifying similar cases.

The PR Team's AI Work Assistant System was recognized for standardizing work processes and improving processing speed by implementing an AI-based chatbot for managing schedules, drafting press releases and greetings, and searching news, thereby streamlining the overall PR workflow.

In addition, outstanding projects included the Strategy Business Team's AI-based network building initiative, the Research Team's corporate analysis and prediction response system, and the Human Resources Development Team's integrated HR management system. These projects were acknowledged for their potential to enhance the level of member company support services and strengthen proactive policy responses through interdepartmental data integration and AI utilization.

The Busan Chamber of Commerce and Industry plans to gradually implement projects with high potential for practical application, regardless of whether they received awards, in order to improve the efficiency of secretariat work and to expand the results of AI utilization to member company support services, thereby supporting the AI transformation of local businesses.

Lee Gwangseok, Executive Director of Management, emphasized, "This AI Idea Contest is not a one-off project or limited to a specific department, but a long-term innovation process to transform the way the entire Busan Chamber of Commerce and Industry works. We will continue to strengthen the AI capabilities of our staff and share those achievements with member companies, playing a leading role in driving AI-based industrial innovation in Busan."
