Discussing a New Vision for Gyeongsan Hyundai Premium Outlet
From Regional Coexistence to a Nature-Friendly Lifestyle Hub
Facility Set to Open in 2028 with 358 Billion KRW Investment
On December 22, Gyeongsan Mayor Cho Hyunil visited the headquarters of Hyundai Department Store in Seoul, where he met with President Chung Ji Young to discuss the current status and future vision of the Gyeongsan Hyundai Premium Outlet project.
During the meeting, Hyundai Department Store unveiled an aerial view of the outlet, announcing that top-tier design firms in Korea-Samoo Architects & Engineers and Ara Group-are participating in the project.
The two sides discussed specific operational strategies that go beyond a simple shopping mall, such as a regional coexistence distribution model, a nature-friendly healing space, and the creation of a tourism hub designed for extended stays.
President Chung Ji Young emphasized, "We will leverage the strengths of the site to create a 'nature-friendly lifestyle outlet' that is differentiated in every aspect, from brands and spaces to content."
In response, Mayor Cho Hyunil expressed his hopes that the outlet would become a complex cultural and tourism hub where visitors can experience the unique charm of Gyeongsan.
The facility, which will be located within the Gyeongsan Knowledge Industry District, is being developed with a total investment of approximately 358 billion KRW and is on track to open in 2028.
