The Gyeonggi Province Comprehensive Sports Competition is a large-scale sports event involving 31 cities and counties within the province. Previously, Osan City hosted a total of four provincial-level competitions, including the Gyeonggi Province Sports Competition and the Gyeonggi Province Sports Competition for the Disabled, over two years from 2027 to 2028.
The organizing committee is chaired by the mayor, with the president of the Osan City Sports Association and the senior vice president of the Osan City Sports Association for the Disabled serving as senior vice chair and vice chair, respectively. The committee consists of three subcommittees: the Operations Support Subcommittee, which includes related local organizations; the Volunteer Support Subcommittee, led by community organizations; and the Sports Operations Subcommittee, composed of athletes. A total of 185 people are participating.
During the preparation process, the city plans to expand sports infrastructure and strengthen operational capabilities to build a foundation where elite sports and community sports can grow together.
Lee Kwonjae, Mayor of Osan City, stated, "This is the first time the event is being held since Osan was elevated to city status 38 years ago. We will use this opportunity as a turning point for Osan to become a leading sports city in the southern region of Gyeonggi Province. We will prepare a safe and high-quality competition by uniting the efforts of all citizens, with the organizing committee at the center."
