Busan Port Authority and New Port Hinterland Companies Inspect Winter Safety Management

Focusing on Fire and Cold Wave Accident Prevention
Striving to End the Year with "Zero Serious Accidents"

Busan Port Authority (BPA) has joined forces with companies operating in the Busan New Port Hinterland Complex to strengthen safety management and prevent accidents during the winter season.

On December 22, Busan Port Authority held the "2025 Q4 Safety Council" at the Neulhaerang Rest Area in Busan New Port, targeting companies located in the hinterland complex.

During the council meeting, participants focused on seasonal safety management measures, taking into account the increased risk of accidents during the winter. The main topics discussed included fire prevention measures in response to increased use of electric heaters, prevention of slip-and-fall accidents caused by cold waves and icy conditions, and management to prevent cold-related illnesses.

Given the recent dry weather and heightened fire risks, BPA urged tenant companies to thoroughly inspect fire safety facilities at each workplace. The authority also emphasized the importance of providing cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) training for workers and conducting evacuation drills to ensure quick response in the event of a fire.

To protect workers who frequently work outdoors in the hinterland complex, BPA also shared guidelines for operating cold wave shelters and winter safety rules to be followed during work, thereby strengthening on-site preventive activities.

Song Sanggeun, President of Busan Port Authority, stated, "Winter is a period with many factors that threaten worker safety, such as fires and cold-related illnesses. We will do our utmost to establish a thorough safety management system through close cooperation with tenant companies and strive to end this year with 'zero serious accidents.'
