As the Netflix series "Black and White Chef: Culinary Class War" Season 2 is creating a sensation overseas, some Chinese netizens have once again started "watching illegally."

According to Professor Seo Kyungduk of Sungshin Women's University on December 23, a review page for "Black and White Chef 2" has already been created on Douban, China's largest review site. As of this morning, there were about 70 reviews and more than 370 people had participated in the star rating.

Since Netflix is not officially available in China, it appears that people have watched "Black and White Chef 2" illegally and then left reviews.

During Season 1 of "Black and White Chef," a review page was also created on Douban, with about 9,500 reviews and more than 23,000 people participating in the star rating at that time.

In particular, Tencent Video, an OTT platform operated by Chinese IT company Tencent, once sparked major controversy by releasing "Yipan Fengxian," a cooking competition entertainment program that copied "Black and White Chef."

Professor Seo Kyungduk stated, "At the time, Netflix also clarified that it had never sold the rights to China, which clearly revealed the seriousness of China's 'content copying' issue. Now, illegal viewing has become commonplace in China, and the fact that there is no sense of shame about it is even more astonishing." He added, "From now on, it is time for the Chinese authorities to take proactive measures. They must conduct intensive crackdowns on illegal activities by their citizens and take action to ensure that such incidents do not happen again."
