Geochang County in South Gyeongsang Province announced on the 23rd that it had received a commendation from the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy and Finance in the statistical survey category of the "2025 Statistical Work Promotion Merit Award," organized by the National Data Office.
This award was established to recognize and promote the achievements of institutions and individuals who have contributed to the accurate compilation of statistics and the successful execution of large-scale economic statistical surveys, such as the National Business Census and the Mining and Manufacturing Survey.
Geochang County developed a systematic plan to ensure the smooth execution of economic statistical surveys and actively utilized a variety of online and offline promotional methods tailored to local conditions-including social media, various banners, and the installation of placards-to encourage active participation from private companies.
Additionally, during the survey period, the county provided thorough on-site supervision to listen to and resolve the difficulties faced by survey staff, enabling them to fully focus on their work. The county was also recognized for providing reliable policy and research data through accurate survey input and internal self-checks.
A county official stated, "This commendation for the statistical survey was made possible thanks to the hard work of the survey staff, as well as the cooperation of county residents and the businesses surveyed, even under challenging circumstances." The official added, "We will do our utmost to ensure that next year's Economic Census is also carried out without any issues."
