Raonsecure is set to drive innovation in the digital education sector by leveraging blockchain-based DID technology.
Raonsecure, an IT security and authentication platform company led by co-CEOs Lee Soonhyung and Lee Jeonga, announced on December 23 that it has signed a "University Joint Project and Digital Education Innovation Memorandum of Understanding (MOU)" with Ubion, an AI specialist company in the education sector led by CEO Lim Jaehwan.
Through this agreement, Raonsecure and Ubion plan to jointly establish a system for digital education certification, proof of learning achievements, and data utilization by applying Raonsecure's blockchain-based identity and qualification issuance and verification platform, "OmniOne Digital ID," and its international standard digital badge platform, "OmniOne Badge," to Ubion's integrated learning management solution, "COURSEMOS LXP."
With this collaboration, the two companies aim to further enhance the reliability of digital education by establishing a blockchain-based identity authentication and qualification verification system that enables the management and verification of learners' educational history, achievements, and qualifications without forgery or alteration. Raonsecure currently provides the OmniOne Badge service to major universities including Seoul National University, Chung-Ang University, Konkuk University, and Seoul Women's University, and is also offering identity verification and issuance services utilizing OmniOne Digital ID to educational institutions.
Raonsecure and Ubion also plan to explore further collaboration opportunities in the global education market. Ubion is engaged in various global projects, including initiatives for international students from Asia, South America, and Africa, while Raonsecure intends to continuously discuss ways to expand its strategic partnership by applying blockchain-based identity authentication and qualification verification technologies to Ubion's global projects.
Ubion, which was listed on the KOSDAQ market in 2022, is an AI-based education company that has been leading the edtech industry by supplying educational content and learning platforms to public institutions and enterprises. Its flagship service, "COURSEMOS LXP," has been adopted by over 160 institutions, including major universities and companies in Korea, and is recognized for its stable performance and operational expertise even in large-scale usage environments.
Wonseok Yoon, Vice President of Raonsecure, stated, "As digital education environments become the norm, the importance of highly reliable technology for systematically managing and verifying learners' achievements and qualifications is growing. Through close cooperation with Ubion, a leader in the edtech industry, we will strengthen the competitiveness of our blockchain-based identity authentication and qualification verification business in the education sector and establish new standards."
Meanwhile, Raonsecure plans to expand its digital education domain by connecting Ubion's educational programs with "Metademy," an AI and metaverse-based hands-on training service provided by its subsidiary Raonmeta, which offers practical training content in IT, drone piloting, forklift operation, and more.
