New Defense AI Robotics Convergence Engineering Track Established in Collaboration with the Marine Corps
Sejong University will recruit 1,185 students for the 2026 regular admissions. By admission group, 351 students will be selected in Group A, 567 in Group B, and 267 in Group C.
In particular, for the 2026 regular admissions, Sejong University will implement integrated recruitment not only by department but also by academic track: Humanities & Social Sciences, Economics & Hotel Tourism, Natural & Life Sciences, IT, Engineering, and Advanced Convergence (newly established in Group C). The School of Liberal Studies (Undeclared Major) will also select 40 students in Group C.
Additionally, Sejong University has established two new advanced departments and tracks: Quantum Intelligence Information and Advanced Convergence. With a total of eight advanced departments and integrated tracks, the university will recruit 309 students, an increase of 22 compared to the previous year. By admission type, 265 students will be selected through the General Admissions track, 34 through the Special Rural Student track, and 10 through the Special Vocational High School Graduate track. Students admitted to the Advanced Convergence track in Group C can choose among the following departments: Artificial Intelligence Data Science, AI Robotics, Intelligent Information Convergence, and Content Software, and will complete their coursework accordingly.
The Defense AI Robotics Convergence Engineering track, a contract department established and operated in collaboration with the Marine Corps, will also be newly introduced in 2026, with six students selected in Group A. In the first stage, four times the number of available spots will be chosen based on College Scholastic Ability Test (CSAT) scores. In the second stage, final admissions decisions will be made based on the first stage scores, interview evaluation, physical fitness test, and a Marine Corps-administered screening (pass/fail determination).
For the General Admissions track in the Humanities, Natural Sciences, and Creative Software divisions, selection will be based 100% on CSAT scores. For the Arts and Physical Education divisions (excluding the Creative Software division), practical exam scores and academic records (school transcripts) will also be considered in addition to CSAT scores. Except for the Directing and Production major in the Department of Film Arts and the Department of Dance in Group A, all other Arts and Physical Education majors will be selected in Group B.
For the CSAT, standardized scores are used for Korean and Mathematics, converted standardized scores for the Inquiry section, and grade levels for English. For the Humanities track, the breakdown is: Korean (30%), Mathematics (30%), English (20%), Inquiry (two subjects from Social Studies or Science) (20%). For the Natural Sciences track: Korean (20%), Mathematics (35%), English (20%), Inquiry (two subjects from Social Studies or Science) (25%). For the Creative Software and Liberal Studies divisions: Korean (35%), Mathematics (35%), English (20%), Inquiry (two subjects from Social Studies or Science) (10%). For the Humanities, Natural Sciences, and Liberal Studies divisions (excluding contract departments), additional points are awarded for Korean History section grades: 10 points for grade 3 or higher, and a deduction of 0.2 points for each grade below 4. For the Arts and Physical Education divisions, Korean (70%) and English (30%) are reflected.
