Blenders Donated to 20 Senior Centers
Promoting Coexistence with the Local Community
On December 22, Gurye County in South Jeolla Province announced that Korea Midland Power Co., Ltd. had delivered blenders to 20 senior centers in Muncheok-myeon to support the healthy lives of the elderly in the area.
This donation was organized to enhance the daily convenience and promote healthy eating habits for local seniors. The donated items will be used as shared equipment at the senior centers.

Korea Midland Power was selected in December 2023 as the priority operator for the construction of a new pumped-storage power plant under the government's 10th Basic Plan for Long-term Electricity Supply and Demand. The company is currently pursuing the construction of this new facility in Muncheok-myeon, Gurye County.
The company has actively contributed to the local community through various social responsibility initiatives, including support for major local events. In particular, it has provided annual support to senior centers in Muncheok-myeon, the designated project site, by donating necessary items for the elderly.
The Gurye pumped-storage power plant project is a large-scale national project with a total investment of approximately 1.5 trillion won. Construction is scheduled to begin in 2028 and be completed by 2034, with a government preliminary feasibility study currently underway.
During the construction period, the project is expected to generate an economic ripple effect worth several hundred billion won in the region. In addition, over the plant's construction and operational lifespan (approximately 60 years), about 57 billion won in support projects will be provided to residents living near the power plant, significantly contributing to regional development and the improvement of residents' welfare.
Kim Soonho, Mayor of Gurye County, stated, "This donation is a warm gesture for local seniors and a demonstration of the company's commitment to social responsibility and co-growth with the community. We will continue to cooperate so that the pumped-storage power plant project leads to regional development and an improved quality of life for our residents."
