Kyungpook National University Science Education Research Institute Hosts 'Dream Talk Concert X Career Festival'... A Gathering for STEM Career Guidance

The Science Education Research Institute at Kyungpook National University, led by Director Jang Jeongho, held the "Dream Talk Concert X Career Festival DREAM" at EXCO in Daegu on December 20 to systematically provide information on STEM career paths.


This event, supported by the Ministry of Science and ICT and the Korea Foundation for the Advancement of Science and Creativity, was attended by approximately 300 students, parents, and teachers from the Daegu, Gyeongsang, Jeolla, and Jeju regions, both online and offline.

At the venue, lectures were delivered by experts with extensive experience in career and academic counseling. Outside the lecture hall, one-on-one in-depth counseling booths were operated by career consultants from various fields for middle and high school students.


Additionally, a "Dream Book" corner was set up to introduce major books and journals in the field of science and technology.


On this day, Seok Changwon, Director of the DGIST Convergence Talent Education Center and former principal of Daegu Science High School, gave a lecture on career planning strategies focusing on the competencies required of science and technology talents in the future society.


Kim Beomjun, Professor of Physics at Sungkyunkwan University, delivered a lecture offering perspectives on the world through the lens of physics.


There was also a session where recent graduates who entered STEM programs at KAIST and Seoul National University shared their experiences preparing for university admissions and their academic journeys, prompting many questions from students in attendance.


Jang Jeongho, Director of the Science Education Research Institute at Kyungpook National University, stated, "This event is a program that combines public support for STEM career and academic guidance with high-quality educational content.


We focused on helping students go beyond simply receiving information, encouraging them to reflect on and design their own career paths. We plan to continue expanding science and technology career support programs in collaboration with local communities."
