Bonghwa County Achieves "Best" Results in Women's Policy
Shining Together with the Women's Association
Bonghwa County and the Bonghwa County Women's Association Council both received awards at the Gyeongbuk Women's Organization Council's project evaluation event, marking a significant achievement as their regional women's policies gained external recognition.
On December 17, Bonghwa County was awarded the top prize in the “Support for Revitalizing Women's Organizations in Cities and Counties” category at the 2025 Gyeongbuk Women's Organization Project Evaluation Meeting, hosted by the Gyeongbuk Women's Organization Council.
The county received high marks for establishing a stable foundation for women's organizations and providing ongoing administrative and financial support.
Bonghwa County has systematically supported a variety of programs centered around the Women's Association Council, including gender equality initiatives, leadership training for women leaders, and women's organization project evaluation competitions.
It was highly regarded for going beyond simple subsidies to create an environment where local women can grow as key players in policy and community activities.
On the same day, the Bonghwa County Women's Association Council also won two awards: the “2025 Outstanding Activity Group Excellence Award” and the “Women's Organization Merit Award.” Their field-based efforts in community service, women's rights advocacy, and community solidarity were recognized as exemplary cases.
Kim Modon, President of the Bonghwa County Women's Association Council, stated, “Thanks to the active support from Bonghwa County, women's organizations have been able to grow steadily and achieve meaningful results. We will continue to fulfill our role as a women's organization leading change and growth in the region.”
Bonghwa County Governor Park Hyunkook emphasized, “The active participation of women's organizations is a key driver of sustainable development in the community. We will continue to provide strong support so that women's organizations can demonstrate their capabilities in various fields.”
This achievement is seen as evidence that Bonghwa County's women's policies have evolved beyond one-off projects to become a sustainable policy model that grows together with the local community.
