This certification system was introduced in 2022 after a pilot operation, with the aim of improving the accuracy and reliability of public data and establishing a data quality management system for each institution. Since the implementation of the system, no local government had previously obtained this certification.
The evaluation was conducted in three areas: ▲ public data value management, ▲ public data management system, and ▲ public data openness and utilization. The city received consistently high scores in all areas, achieving a total score of 95.78 points.
The city has established a quality management system to systematically manage data that was previously scattered across departments and to identify and correct errors in advance. Through these efforts, the reliability of policy reviews and administrative decisions has been enhanced, and a foundation has been laid for the stable expansion of artificial intelligence (AI)-based administrative services in the future.
Lee Sangil, Mayor of Yongin, stated, "This certification is an institutional recognition of the city's efforts in data quality management and AI-centered administrative services," adding, "We will continue to provide trustworthy administrative services to citizens based on high-quality public data."
