Namyangju City Council Holds 2nd Model Public Servant Awards Ceremony

The 2nd Namyangju City Council Model Public Servant Awards Ceremony was organized to encourage exemplary public servants who diligently fulfilled their duties in the field and actively worked for the citizens throughout the year. The event was attended by about 50 people, including Chairman Jo Seongdae, Vice Chairperson Lee Jeongae, Steering Committee Chairman Lee Jinhwan, Autonomy and Administration Committee Chairman Han Geunsu, Welfare and Environment Committee Chairperson Lee Kyungsook, Urban Transportation Committee Chairman Park Kyungwon, Assembly members Park Yunok and Jeon Hyeyeon, as well as the award recipients and guests.

A total of four individuals received awards on this day. The recipients were selected through recommendations and evaluations within each standing committee and the council secretariat, in recognition of their contributions to legislative and municipal development. The honorees were: Choi Jeongin, Head of the Council Secretariat's Legislative Affairs Team; Kwon Taejun, Head of the Corporate SOS Team in the Regional Economy Division; Park Sehyun, Head of the Welfare Policy Team in the Welfare Policy Division; and Lee Wonjun, Head of the Road Construction Team 2 in the Road Construction Division. Each awardee received a plaque of commendation and will be granted up to two days of special leave in accordance with the "Namyangju City Council Model Public Servant Award Operation Rules."

Chairman Jo Seongdae stated, "I would like to express my respect and congratulations to those who have received this honor today. This ceremony was created to encourage our public servants who have worked together with the council members present here to improve the quality of life for Namyangju's 740,000 citizens and to advance the city, and to convey our gratitude."

He continued, "I know that the exemplary public servants receiving awards today are those who break down various regulatory barriers surrounding Namyangju, propose creative ideas, and demonstrate proactive administration to guide the city in the right direction. In the Chinese classic Jinshu, there is a saying 'Dongryangjijae,' which means 'timber fit to be used as a main beam.' I hope that, with the honor and pride of being selected as this year's exemplary public servants, you will continue to fulfill your calling and duties as public officials and grow into key talents who support Namyangju and its citizens."
