Iksan City Holds Expanded Executive Meeting to Review Year-End and New Year Administration

Discussion on Winter Safety Measures and Key Events

On December 22, Iksan City in North Jeolla Province held an expanded executive meeting to conduct a comprehensive review of the administrative response system for the year-end and New Year period.

According to the city, the meeting brought together more than 90 officials, including bureau directors, department heads, and heads of towns, townships, and neighborhoods, to share response strategies for key issues during the year-end and New Year period and to strengthen collaboration between field offices and city hall headquarters.

Notably, the meeting also highlighted the increase in the population of people in their 30s. Despite the overall trend of population decline, the net growth in this age group was attributed to Iksan's unique support policies for young people, such as housing, employment, and settlement assistance, which have produced tangible results on the ground.

The meeting, held in line with the year-end and New Year period, also included discussions on major current issues such as winter safety measures, key events, and a special inspection of public service discipline.

The city has designated the period until March 15 of next year as the natural disaster response period to prepare for winter disasters such as heavy snow and cold waves, and has activated its emergency response system. Through interdepartmental cooperation, the city also plans to strengthen field-oriented responses to ensure citizen safety, such as road snow removal and protection of vulnerable groups.

In addition, the city is making thorough preparations to ensure that events such as the New Year's Eve bell-ringing ceremony and the Baekje Royal Palace sunrise event are held safely, while also conducting special inspections to reinforce public service discipline and enhance trust in municipal administration.

Mayor Jeong Heon-yul emphasized, "It is important that all executives, from bureau directors to heads of towns, townships, and neighborhoods, share the same direction," and urged, "All departments should work together organically so that field operations and administration are aligned, delivering administration that citizens can truly feel."
