Yeongcheon City Wins Two Awards in Livelihood Economy Evaluation... Secures 350 Million Won in Special Grants

Selected as an Excellent Local Government in Both Local Gift Certificate and Livelihood Recovery Consumption Coupon Sectors

Yeongcheon City announced on December 22 that its initiatives, the "Yeongcheon Love Gift Certificate" and the "Livelihood Recovery Consumption Coupon" projects, which were implemented to revitalize the local economy and restore livelihoods, have been recognized for outstanding performance in the Ministry of the Interior and Safety's evaluation of the livelihood economy sector, resulting in the city being selected as an excellent local government for each project.


In the Ministry of the Interior and Safety’s evaluation of outstanding local governments in the issuance of local gift certificates, Yeongcheon City was selected as an excellent local government based on a comparison of performance before and after receiving national funding support, thereby securing a special grant of 250 million won.

Additionally, by being selected as an excellent local government in the execution of the Livelihood Recovery Consumption Coupon project, the city secured an additional 100 million won as an incentive, bringing the total special grant secured in the livelihood economy sector to 350 million won.


In May of this year, in celebration of Family Month, Yeongcheon City held a special 15% discount sale on the Yeongcheon Love Card, and from September 8 until the end of December, is offering a 15% discount on Yeongcheon Love Gift Certificates (both card and paper types).


This year, the city expanded the total issuance of Yeongcheon Love Gift Certificates to 85 billion won and increased the number of affiliated stores to around 4,400, significantly improving convenience and local utilization.


A city official stated, "With local economic conditions remaining challenging due to continued inflation, and the burden on small business owners being substantial, we will continue to implement policies that provide tangible support for the local economy going forward."
