Internet Journalists Alliance Selects Seungje Lim as 2025 Press Award Grand Prize Winner

Gold Prize Awarded to Cheonsu Jeong and Jeonggyun Kim
Recognized for Investigative Reporting and In-Depth Local Coverage

The Internet Journalists Alliance (Internet Journalist Club, IJC) has selected Seungje Lim, a reporter at iNews24, as the Grand Prize winner of the 2025 IJC Press Award.


The Internet Journalists Alliance held the "8th Anniversary Support Night and Year-End Party" at Yehyang Korean Restaurant in Seocho-gu, Seoul, at 6 p.m. on the 19th, where it also hosted an awards ceremony for the IJC Press Award and the Merit Award recipients.


During the event, congratulatory and encouraging messages were delivered from the Presidential Office and the Prime Minister's Office.

The IJC Press Award Grand Prize was awarded to Seungje Lim of iNews24 for his exclusive report, which detailed the testimony of Taegyun Myung regarding allegations that Wansu Park, Governor of South Gyeongsang Province, pledged loyalty and was promised a nomination by former President Seokyeol Yoon.


The IJC Press Award Gold Prize was given to Cheonsu Jeong, producer at Open Empathy TV, for his investigative report tracking down a secret warehouse related to Geonhee Kim's stepfather, Chungsik Kim. Another Gold Prize went to Jeonggyun Kim, CEO and chief reporter of Jeonnam News People, for reporting on the world's first successful mass production of blue carbon "eelgrass" by a private company in Yeosu.


The IJC Press Award Merit Award was presented to Seokcheol Jeong, reporter at Gyeonggi Maeil; Yongsik Jo, CEO of Korea Merchant News; Jaesik Yoon, reporter at Seoul Voice; Duman Lim, editor-in-chief of Sinmungo News; Haksool Bae, publisher of Korea Eagle News; and Areumnae Kim, reporter at Urban Redevelopment News.

The Merit Award in the Social Sector was awarded to Gwiseong Chu, president of the Seoul Merchants Association; Boran Lim, president of the Korea Tattooists Association; Sangwon Park, president of the World Korean Foundation; and Oyong Park, president of Aseong Trading Corporation.


Gwanggyu Chu, Executive Chairman of the Internet Journalists Alliance, stated, "Next year, the Internet Journalists Alliance will be launched as an incorporated association," and added, "With this new leap forward, we will further strengthen our commitment to fair and responsible media solidarity."


Meanwhile, the Internet Journalists Alliance, established on December 8, 2017, is a media network organization that operates a joint reporting and simultaneous publication system based on the value of "together, yet apart," reporting on social issues.
