Ansan City in Gyeonggi Province finalized and released its slogan and emblem on December 22 to commemorate the 40th anniversary of its promotion to city status next year.
The slogan and emblem were determined through a public contest, a review by an advisory panel, and a design improvement project. They will be used throughout various municipal affairs next year.

The selected slogan, “40 Years Achieved Together, 100 Years Opening Together,” was the top prize winner in the public contest. It celebrates Ansan City’s growth with its citizens over the past 40 years and expresses a vision to build the next 100 years together with the community.
The emblem was completed based on the winning entry from the public contest, followed by a design improvement process. Centered around the number “40,” it symbolically represents Ansan City’s 40-year growth trajectory. By combining straight and curved lines, the design reflects the city’s stable foundation and flexible potential for future expansion. The light element placed at the top of the “0” symbolizes progress and vision.
The emblem will be used for various events, commemorative merchandise, and both online and offline promotional materials celebrating next year’s 40th anniversary of city status.
Lee Minguen, Mayor of Ansan City, stated, “We will widely utilize the slogan and emblem in city commemorative projects to enhance consistency across initiatives and continue to spread the meaning of the 40th anniversary together with our citizens.”
